One of the big challenges for community-based organisations is balancing the delivering for community members with the demands of keeping the doors open. New research offers a framework for organisations to explore this dilemma by examining how they relate to and engage with community members.
In this workshop, participants will think about their relationships with community through two lenses – whether power relationships are centralised or decentralised, and whether connections are transactional or relational.
Through this, participants will gain new insights into how they can develop and maintain strong connections with community members that can act as a bulwark against external pressures.
