Hamani Tanginoa

Hamani Tanginoa is a proud Wiradjuri, Gooreng Gooreng and Tongan man from South West Sydney.

He was born and raised in Campbelltown surrounded by the Aboriginal community.

Hamani is a musician, student and activist and raises issues regarding Aboriginal Affairs, Education, LGBTQI+ Rights and Mental Health. Hamani is currently studying a Bachelor of Music (Contemporary Performance) at JMC Academy, Sydney.

In 2019, Hamani made history by getting elected the first Aboriginal Youth Premier in the NSW YMCA Youth Parliament Program. Also in 2019, Hamani was a member of the Youth Advisory Council at the Office of the Advocate for Children and Young People.

Hamani uses his platform as an artist to speak on issues that are meaningful to him. He is currently a member of the Canada-Australia Indigenous Youth Health and Wellbeing Committee.
