A Multi‐Sensory Room is an environment where the primary senses are stimulated through the use of sensory based materials. Sensory rooms provide a safe, non-threatening environment for people with cognitive, behavioural and physical impairments to engage in a range of sensory experiences. Controlled sensory experiences can both calm and stimulate the primary senses using sensory-based materials such as fibre optics sprays, bubble tubes, music, colour, lighting and aroma.

The CareWays Community Sensory Room is available for the whole community to use - you do not need to have any disability to enjoy our sensory room! The room is available during the week, after hours and on weekends, so you are welcome to use the room with your loved ones at a time that’s suitable to you.
